What does a day look like in my role?
The Product Owner at Leadpages will report to the Manager, Product and will be expected to cultivate a deep understanding of our customers, the market, and our business that will help guide our team in day-to-day decision making. As Product Owner, you will create requirements, drive product releases for one or more development teams, and work closely with the Manager, Product to translate the product roadmap into a manageable product backlog. The Product Owner will be a subject matter expert on issues related to their products/projects and our customer’s expectations. The role will be responsible for customer research, requirements gathering, and KPI tracking

  • Work with the Product Manager, UI/UX designers, Development teams, and other key stakeholders to form a deep understanding of customer problems and potential solutions.
  • Own, organize, and update product backlog and establish priorities during the planning and daily stand-ups.
  • Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and verify that story implementation matches requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings and provide feedback to the team.
  • Prioritize tradeoffs, clarify requirements and work to drive user stories to acceptance throughout the agile development lifecycle.
  • Drive projects to completion
  • Advocates and embodies customer obsession resulting in customer and market-focused decisions.
  • Understand the competitive playing field; understand how our portfolio compares to digital leaders.


After 1 week

  • Meet team members
  • Agile training
  • Ridealong with PO / PM to understand our workflow


After 1 month

  • Review customer interviews
  • Understand core customer
  • Review application functionality
  • Research first customer problem


After 6 months

  • Assume day to day responsibilities for a team
  • Manage backlog
  • Execute customer interviews


What we would like to see in you.

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Able to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing and presenting customer research to large groups
  • In-depth understanding of industry market conditions and trends
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
