One of our 3 portfolio companies, Assembly is our digital publishing arm. Powered by dedicated content experts and an in-house media team, we write and publish fact-driven content from the entertaining to the educational across 5 popular websites. Our Assembly team is 27 people strong and borrows from Redbrick’s shared HR, finance and marketing services.

What does a day look like in my role?
We get it. You need to know what you’re signing up for before you sign up, right? This is what you need to know. As an Advertising Operations Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working with partners to set up and optimize advertising tags.
  • Compiling advertising unit and advertiser reports to provide insight into performance trends and opportunities.
  • Performing quality assurance procedures.
  • Liaising with the Product team to provide instruction, feedback, and specifications as needed.
  • Ensuring tracking systems are functioning.
  • Providing feedback and suggestions for website optimization.

After 1 week:

  • You’ll understand the basics of Assembly, and how your role contributes to its success.

After 1 month:

  • You’ll have an in-depth understanding of advertising operations structure you’ll start to work with partners.
  • You’ll have gained a working knowledge of our technical systems.

After 6 months:

  • You’ll have completed Google training as it pertains to advertising operations.
  • You’ll have a thorough knowledge of our web properties and advertising layouts.
  • You’ll have worked with our partners to troubleshoot and optimize advertising placements across all sites.

  • Thorough understanding of website technology and functionality.
  • Understanding of web development capabilities (knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and JSON).
  • Expert in Excel.
  • Passion for data and analysis.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and other tracking systems.
  • Experience with online advertising an asset.
  • Passionate about research and development.
  • Comfortable with JIRA and HTTP/browser debugging.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Diploma in Computer Technology.
